چکیده
Thyroid cancer accounts for approximately 3% of all new diagnoses per year globally.1 Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is the most common type, followed by follicular (FTC).1 Recently, simultaneous appearance different histological variants in same patient has been reported, being called combined pattern cancer, mixed tumors, hybrid tumors or compound gland.2 Epidemiologically, reported less than 2% cases, it presents proportion men and women, age presentation between 18 45 years.3 Different associations are found, including carcinomas: a) medullary (CMT) PTC; b) PTC fasciitis-like stroma; c) CPT CFT; even combinations CMT, CFT.4 Several studies suggest a more aggressive clinical behavior, which may be related to coexistence multiple patterns variants, with early detection rapid treatment vital importance. It based on surgical treatment, moderate-high dose radioiodine TSH suppression (<0.1mIU/L).4 This achieves cure rate up 66% survival three years after diagnosis 90% 10 80% 95%.

Oncocytic Variant Of Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma - A Case Report
Medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) is a rare tumor arising from parafollicular C-cells. The oncocytic variant of MTC is an extremely rare diagnosis, with less than 20 cases reported. Here we present the case of a 36-year-old male patient with complaints of neck swelling and dysphagia. On fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC), a Hürthle cell neoplasm was suggested. Finally with histopathol...

Introduction: Follicular thyroid carcinoma (FTC) is the second most common malignant form of thyroid cancers. FTC is more common in women with a peak incidence in the fifth and sixth decades of life. Invasion into blood vessels may lead to distant metastasis to bone, lung, liver or elsewhere. FTC rarely manifests itself as a distant metastatic lesion, especially as solitary metastasis. Case r...

Medullary thyroid carcinoma accounts for 4% of thyroid carcinoma and originates from parafollicular cells, secreting calcitonin and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA). Conventional radiographic modalities such as Computerized Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and Ultrasonography (U/S), are used for detecting recurrences following total thyroidectomy. However, metastatic disease fre...
متن کاملEctopic papillary thyroid carcinoma in the mediastinum without any tumoral involvement in the thyroid gland. A Case report
Ectopic thyroid tissue results from abnormal embryologic development and migration of the thyroid gland. True malignant transformation in ectopic thyroid tissue is extremely rare and is always diagnosed after surgical excision of the lesion by pathology examinations. There are well-documented cases of ectopic thyroid cancer while primary tumoral lesion occurs in the orthotopic thyroid, but only...
